Oh for decades there was a conflict between people who identified as British or Irish, that resulted in alot of deaths/murders. It was known as "the troubles". You can get an idea of it from wiki (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Troubles). If you're ever in Belfast I can give youse a tour of my area if interested. It was a primary location for paramilitaries & attacks during the troubles.
