gm :-) imagine a new Layer 2 goes live and you’d like to mint an NFT on the new Layer 2 (eg https://zora.co/collect/zora:0x8fcfdad5ebdd1ce815aa769bbd7499091ac056d1 ). rn there are 2 options (best case) (1) bridge eth from mainnet to the L2 (pretty expensive, default) (2) bridge with orbiter (kind of expensive, not all chains available) + 1 https://hey.xyz/posts/0x0f85-0x1c45-DA-6cd6bcf1 (that's what I've learned yesterday from @satsgas.lens ) Option 2 and especially 1 is - at least percentage wise - quite expensive. “Bridging” with #lensfrens is orders of magnitude cheaper = 2 ETH transfers on L2s. **-> a few cents transaction costs vs a few usd** Option 3 though is pretty convincing for the vast majority of bridging use cases ...
