Doing a quick proxy test
This will be a test stream to see if we can directly proxy streams to bounce streaming off a second network using something like
Comments
- So you can use this teqnique to keep your streaming bandwidth off of your computer
- using mediamtx on a separate device, and that device having a separate internet connection, then sending your obs rtmp output to it, and it proxies it to your streaming service
- now I can stream by encoding on my laptop, and sending on a separate routing device, this is awesome, tonight I'll do a nice stream with the audio set up and everything
- that means I can now stream without running up my mobile bandwidth costs
- I"ve also found out how to drastically reduce streaming bandwidth requirements, this is 300kbps right now
if you set cbr to vbr, then you can adjust the CRF up a bit, makes it way more variable
- Fantastic it works

- @lens/teknopath that's awesome, so basically you are processing on your laptop & sending to other device using home network ..? and that other device would use internet bandwidth to send video bits to livepeer rtmp server ..?
- yeah that way I can use two different internet connections, one for streaming, and another for browsing
