If you reviewed the architecture of Momoka, would you call it L2, L3, L2 on DA layer, Hybrid, something else? Looking to find a good categorization for Mom
Comments
- Just today my friend asked me what Momoka was. And the easiest thing for me to introduce it to him was L3, as Momoka was originally introduced.
It is a level above Polygon, which allows you to increase TPS, and Polygon is a level above Ethereum.
I'm not technically savvy about blockchain, but it seems right? And from a marketing point of view L3 is also a successful narrative, it seems to me.
If called "L2 on DA", few people understand what DA is. If you call it just L2, you can get lost among Optimism, Arbitrum, Linea, Taiko, Fuel and many others, which are more and more every day.
And L3 can be associated with Layer 3, but there will be no confusion, everyone knows that this is just a quest platform.
- Best category I can think of is App-specific DA Layer.
I wouldn't call it L3 because:
- Polygon PoS is not an L2 right now
- Momoka doesn't submit state to Polygon (as far as I understand)
- I would call it "Social Data Layer".
It would be confusing to define Momoka as a Layer 3 because Polygon isn't considered or at least not yet as a Layer 2 of Ethereum but technically rather as a side-chain.
I also really like the word optimistic!
- What @0xmoe.lens said. Polygon is a side-chain, not an L2. So calling Momoka an L3 is disingenuous. Will Momoka move to an actual L2 (Polygon built or not) in the future? Cuz the side-chain isn't fit for a social network
- Hybrid DA layer
- I would really just call it an optimistic L3 w DA
- L2 „L“ stands for #lens and „2“ square … like 👇
:-)
- Layer 2.5 😂
- DASS? (Data Availability-based Scaling Solution)
- L3, minimalistic and straight to the point.
- L2^2
- more information needed about Momoka~
- obviously Data Availability Momoka Network (DAMN)
- I’d like to call it EVM consensus layer on DA
- I would say it could be a very revolutionary L3 for a social ecosystem.
- L2.5
