- As blocks are generated every 13 seconds on Ethereum, posting a specific significant event to the service with such frequency would be impractical. Alternatively, we can utilize meme dApps, such as @memester-xyz.lens, to select and post the most popular meme from the previous 100 blocks (or another well-considered criterion). Additionally, we can employ @truthordare.lens to choose their trending posts and share content from them on designated blocks.
We can compile news events from the trending sections of Twitter, Facebook, or other social media and news platforms, and present them on a dashboard for public voting by LENS users anonymously (with zk-voting as a potential method). The news item with the highest number of votes (presumably more relevant news will garner more votes) will be published within that block. To enhance participation in these services, @memester-xyz.lens, @truthordare.lens, or similar artists can arrange events to stimulate user engagement and encourage the production of high-quality content.
Considering the general lack of interest in news, we can allocate checkpoints of every epoch for news updates and reserve other blocks for more engaging content. It is important to note that I do not support cluttering Etherscan with irrelevant content, and I would not recommend adding any content to Etherscan solely for the purpose of inclusion. The block explorer serves as a historical record, and content should only be posted when it holds significance. Moreover, I am not concerned about content quality, as an increase in the number of content sources—news, art, etc.—will likely lead to the publication of only meaningful content, thereby making the process of "turning the blocks" on Etherscan enjoyable.
In essence, I envision Etherscan as more than a mere record of transactions; I want it to serve as an accurate reflection of human history, including our art and significant events.
