- GM everyone! This is the first post of this account, and as such, I want it to reflect the path we will follow with the information that I plan to share. Therefore, the "genesis post" of @lifeandhealth.lens is dedicated to Lifestyle Medicine and its 6 pillars:
Lifestyle Medicine is a holistic approach to healthcare that focuses on lifestyle factors that can contribute to the development of chronic non-communicable diseases. It aims to modify lifestyle to prevent and treat such diseases and is based on the following pillars to achieve this:
1.- Healthy whole plant-based diet (not necessarily a vegetarian or vegan diet).
2.- Regular, frequent, and varied physical activity, specifically designed for each individual.
3.- Stress management by learning to avoid it when possible and control it when it appears.
4.- Good quality and adequate duration of sleep.
5.- Healthy relationships with both others and oneself.
6.- Prevention and/or cessation of tobacco and alcohol use, as well as other toxic habits.
Through this account, I intend to delve into each of these topics in-depth, as well as others related to health, habits, and longevity (understood not only as a long life but also a healthy one), all based on solid scientific evidence. I hope you will join me on this path of learning and self-improvement to achieve a better life together.
