What we see rn is the first generation of lens apps (web2/3 apps on lens). I agree the apps will and already iterate in one or the other direction. I think notifications are big. If an app is able to notify users for relevant content that’s gold standard UX imo. I’m very curious what second generation lens apps will look like and seeing more and more apps integrating @lensprotocol as their social graph/layer. I don’t see “lens wars” making sense for the foreseeable future. If we are not able to scale users massively it doesn’t matter which app has what market share. If we manage to attract web0-2 users at scale every app building on lens will win.
I think there is a huge potential in communities. @orbapp.lens is starting it but there is so much more that could be possible.. I was thinking about a discord style app built on lens. A genesis post could start the community. Collecting it would give access. Channels could be replicated by posts where all the discussion would be comments to the channel-starting post. If I had time I would apply for a lens grant and build this … but way too much other things going on.
