No not really. I suppose like let’s say I wanna create Project X. Do I put out a hackathon for others to help build or do I build it inside of a hackathon?

- 😅 Typically hackathons are sponsored by companies looking to expose developers to their service, protocol, platform, etc. In almost all cases, the builders retain all rights to anything built during the hackathon. So a blockchain, SaaS, or something like that would hold a hackathon, not a consumer-facing product.
Hackathons are definitely not a way to get developers to build your idea. Best case scenario, a proof of concept is built, a team is formed, and the prizes are just enough to continue development to an MVP. What you're describing sounds more like a bounty.
