Not sure what you mean by default behavior, but it's always been supported. I didn't mention that feature in the announcement because we already have Lens Share, which is really the ideal way to share links that are meant to provide a choice. eg: <https://share.lens.xyz/p/0x0178c5-0x0610> Lenks was primarily designed for an individual looking to switch Lens apps, or to get a specific app URL. I think I'll add Lens Share support to Lenks though, for easier sharing.
