absolutely, i agree with your balanced perspective. would never advocate for hiring the less qualified person. i’m a firm believer in diversity of perspectives both gender and beyond. results in companies that outperform. it’s been proven in the data. unfortunately we need to make an effort to change initial biases of our space. if women aren’t coming here and we don’t have the same level of female talent attracted to the space then the question is what could we be doing better. focus on identifying the problem and building to fix it rather than quick fix hires. this could mean supporting shefi etc. but if im a women and only see men and no active diversity efforts at a minimum by the company it’s a tough sell why id bother.
i like than everyone can have a different opinion here and it helps inform well rounded discussion and perspective
