What is digital fashion and why wouldn’t exist without the blockchain?

A dictionary definition of digital fashion would be "the visual representation of clothing built using computer technologies and 3D software." Basically, it is garments made on the computer that are intended to be worn solely in digital worlds (though some of them can also be brought into the physical world - a trend we're seeing more and more). To give you an example of digital fashion, gaming skins, as I'm sure you're familiar with, represent the first iteration of digital fashion. Alternatively, you can also consider the AR filters on various social media platforms as examples of digital fashion
What blockchain does for digital fashion is that it makes it feel tangible and real. It allows digital garments to be owned, provides faster and more secure access to a global market, enables interoperability (we're not quite there yet, but we're getting closer), and also facilitates the provenance of any digital item that is bought, traded, or sold. These are the three elements, in my opinion, that make blockchain essential for the existence of digital fashion; it makes it feel more tangible🌹
