True, but what if you want to pin an event for example that is posted by another profile? would you see any use case? you can still pin yours of course

I think that's what the bookmark is meant for. Pins are supposed to be your contents that are rather memorable or genesis of a breakthrough ( eg beginning of lens journey). i think filter on notifications are way more better ( choose contents I want to be appear on top like you did the comments)
If original deleted, it still exists on my profile?
Personal opinions though others may want to differ
