- late 2021 I thought music NFTs will be the next NFT wave. The legend @mintsongs.lens was my favourite platform, primarily because they minted on Polygon (everyone else I knew of (like catalog, @soundxyz_.lens ) minted on L1) and the team/discord was very friendly and welcoming. Nina (solana) has a great UI (imo) and I found some music there closer to my favourite genre(s) like https://www.ninaprotocol.com/Earg2QFoKrGVsVUmPawwgurrAPXAvndD5497xovrvacG .
#lens related I think @amnisiac.lens , the @buttrfly.lens music player and @oohlala.lens are great - I like @finkel.lens a lot, "I Am Machine" is one of my favourite tracks of the last 6 months. There are plenty of great artists on lens -> for discovery you can listen to the @mixtape feed on @amnisiac.lens for example :-).
- I love what @oohlala.lens @buttrfly.lens and @beatsapp.lens are doing.
When I started collecting music NFTs on Lens, I really wanted to have a place where I could listen to my collection, similar to having a playlist on a streaming service, but with music NFTs that I owned. OohLaLa initially solved that.
As I started using Buttrfly more often, @0xmoe.lens kept rolling out amazing, audio-specific updates providing a similar experience, but exclusive to Lens drops. I can easily discover new music on the regular while using the app (the playlist feature that runs in the background is dope).
I’m planning on dropping my next piece with Beats/Riff so I’m a little biased, but I love the community of artists around this project. They are getting behind web3 music producers, and finding ways of bringing new liquidity to the music NFT space on Lens. I think the key thing happening here is cross-pollination between music NFT platforms. For instance, you can publish a snippet of music on Lens via Beats/Riff, make it collectible, and use that to populate an allowlist for a drop on @soundxyz_.lens or @decentxyz.lens
My two cents; Lens music NFTs are providing collectors with a new listening experience, access to artists drops and allowlists across various platforms, and discovery of new artist communities in the space. That’s just the start tho, I imagine… ✅
On a bigger-picture level, definitely check out what @ryanfox.lens is seeing down the road.

- hey dude! thx for collecting 🧘 😉 personally don’t have 💭 if it works for u go w god! 🎵 is the most important thing. i focus on that + relationship w peaceheads. the tech is moving so quickly i personally feel music nfts are already essentially phased out by lens collects 😆 u can accomplish the exact same thing w lens collects 🤷 reckon that’s an unpopular opinion n if so see third line 😆 encourage u to check out bobpeace.io and all the gating features on there, too ❤️ ✌🏽 🎶
- would highly recommend this piece by @ryanfox.lens highlights a lot from a music perspective in the second half.

- I’m skeptical about anything that I’ve seen so far actually working, but I feel like something will shake out in this space that will make sense.
^hope that wasn’t too much insight all at once!
- Need more mass adoption. People still use traditional applications for better UI/UX and easier ways of payment
