Real talk - is the cost of acquisition to reacquire someone who is jaded but used to be in crypto lower or higher than a newbie? Debate.

Hmm. I think it’s worthwhile. I met artists who were active during the 2021 NFT scene and currently do not have issues with crypto, they just left because they didn’t see it being worth their time and energy during the bear. I believe these friends were also scared by the sharkey toxicity of crypto’s finance world during the bear, too. When I talked to creatives, I think most of them understood that the demand for art changes during good economic times vs bad, which they can also apply to crypto. I think most of these artists _want_ the opportunity crypto can provide but are waiting for the right vibe and time. As for financey personas… well… they’ve perhaps seen/ participated in the worst of our industry and could definitely be jaded/ disgusted lol. ☠️ Still, I think there’s a spirit of opportunity that can be reignited during a bull market. Former users are good because there’s less of an onboarding hurdle and there’s probably a spark still inside them. This is my hunch, anyways. We def need/ want fresh newbies too 💯but I think it’s worthwhile to bring in ppl from the last cycle who are willing to lean back in.
I tend to subscribe to poof's data that no one really offboards completely, they just occassionally lose interest. So acquiring them back is probably easier than onboarding someone totally new. Might be different for something like Lens though! You could be a Lens user without really touching the rest of the crypto ecosystem. https://www.poof.gripe/p/the-2021-2023-nft-retrospective-chapter-b5b
A lot of people become interested again when price goes up. I think those who see a future in the technology stay engaged, regardless of the market. Most of the classical musicians I onboarded in 2021 are now completely out of crypto. I'm waiting to see if they'll reach out again this cycle.
Higher cost. However it’s a higher hill for a newbie.
Pro: They can already use wallets Counter: Wallets options have never been better with easier UX than Metamask (which itself is also getting better) so less of a gap for newbies
