- Interesting experiment, I need to play with this new notification feature! #botfight
- I like the idea of what web of trust is heavy but it's the only way to have a trust in a profile for me.

The idea is pretty old gpg can do this kind of thing but it's lot more complciated.
For lens would be cool if we can "verify" a profile based on some qr code then you can see who trust this profile and based on that accord some lvl of trust to the account. As I say in the post "verification" must be revocable because lens profile can be transfered.
Also it's a long process but the only way for me to be sure you are talking to the good person behind an address.

- What about bots interaction? Do you think they were left out as well?
- Interesting findings. Question: who is implementing this filtering? I'm guessing it's the the frontend, in this case @lenster.lens, but I noticed that @buttrfly.lens implemented the same today. Curious if anyone can expand on how that works?
I do think filtering ultimately needs to be derived from some sort of social score...or perhaps each frontend provides their own unique criteria, but as new apps and functionality develop we will undoubtedly settle into those UIs that allow us the flexibility to tweak things the way we want/need it. For me, I just want to know you are honest. If you are a bot, say you're a bot. If you are a human...i want to make sure you are a unique human (new, old, small following, big following should not matter if you are representing accurately, imo). I would tend to agree with you the filtering on the basis on following is probably one of the least appealing approaches...echo chambers, no chance for new voices, etc..though i'm not bashing the work that's been done 🙏
Your monthly posts are obviously a huge benefit to new users. Love the idea of getting lens-established artists and creators involved with that as well. I find communities (re: orb) to be pretty difficult to navigate, and not particularly useful, but that may just mean I don't spend enough time in them to properly engage. Honestly, if this was a subreddit I'd say let's pin a daily thread where new users could post questions, helpful souls could check it, respond, mirror as their time permits, and established users could banter...and slowly people are brought into the community. In terms of lens, I could see a bot account (eg. @411_bot.lens or something more clever 🙃) that could make a daily post `New User? Old User? Have questions? Comment below 👇`** . In my view it's not just a place for people to get technical support, but also to feel like they are getting some engagement (it sucks to post for a week with 0 comments and 0 likes!).
Non sequitur, whatever happened with sonar?
- I really do think degree of separation logic for followings is the best way to go for a long time because it let’s people manually filter out bots and then you just have to filter out people that follow bots or Trojan bots.
- I have noticed I am receiving less likes on my comments after the notification filtering feature was introduced. I reckon some of the users who liked my comments can be genuine lens users not bots accounts. Having said that, I still support lens actions on limiting/stopping bots activities.
- regarding new users and how to engage or amplify them, I haven't come up with any good ideas since this post.
I think you have done an awful lot with your monthly post and recent games. people only needed to follow you right from the start (well, there are worse things in life for them to do).
pinned posts like @huugo.lens has mentioned are a good idea. however, they had to me made the frontends (or @punkess.lens is an auto-follow for new users).
a problem with such a pinned post could be the low level comments we're experiencing. such a post had to be heavily moderated, imho. but we don't have the means to do so.
