Should humans be scared of AI?
Comments
- imo AI is a technological reality at this point and people should be no more scared of that than electricity or cars. the scary part is not understanding how it's going to affect your life and I think that's where education is going to be important. it's similar in nature to NFTs
- No. People are scared of AI because of sci-fi movies, not because of anything that has actually happened in real life. I'm also not scared of zombies, because there are no zombies.
AI will for sure replace some jobs, but unintelligent robots also did that. Computers also did that.
I also find artists who are threatened by AI to be kindof short sighted. They site that it "takes inspiration from 'real' artists without giving credit." like... i'm a musician, I also take inspo from every single piece of music I have ever heard in my life. I don't have to give credit to Pythagoras in my songs just because I think a D minor scale sounds cool. Every song with a DJ scratch in it doesn't have to write down "i got the DJ scratch sound idea from DJ Cool Herc." the AI learns from images the same way humans learn from images.
It's also here now, so trying to 'stop' it is futile. It's code. You can't really stop people from running or writing code.
- I think it will be scary when AI starts creating AI and that connection with humans is lost.
- We should. To an extent, AI has the capability to replace humans in many industries. Also, AI can make human lazy,If a robot can easily do my job for me, why stress myself. 🤷🏽♀️
- Lazy people should fear Ai is coming. Preparing now or learning multiple skills is the best way to survive
- Yes even it is artificial, it is intelligent
- Not as long as the three laws of AI are respected
First Law a IA may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
Second Law a IA must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
Third Law a IA must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
- Not for the beginning of AI age but I think it would be harmful after it fully grows
- No. Humans learned to leverage bronze, steel; electricity; human flight; among many other inventions.
- Yes especially it could replace some human jobs in the near future
- Yes, I hope we’re still needed in 50 years
- no on the contrary
- Nope
- We need to revere the new technology of AI, we can not image how terrible it will be in future
- Hoomans should be scared of themselves
- nope only other humans 😉
- no worry stani, john connor will save us all
- nope - they should learn to collaborate and co-create with it
- yes
- I don’t think so. Thoughtful and measured but not scared. Progress and development are inevitable. It’s how wisely we manage them that matters.
- Not yet! We are still safe with chatgpt and similar AI tools.
- Ohhh yesss 😅
- Contained in a software environment, no. Placed inside a robotic body to learn from its physical environment, where it starts doing backflips, and karate moves, then it thinks "why learn martial arts when I can just hold a gun?"
Then yes lol
