Hope I'm paraphrasing you correctly ser, are you saying that a Bitcoin L2 is still not sufficient as long as its scripting language is not powerful enough?

Well, it depends what you mean with L2. We already have Lightning, so payments are possible. If you want smart contract functionalities, which is what @punkess.lens was implying above then you need a more complete Bitcoin Script. You could however, do things with side chains or even server-based (pls excuse my bad language) solutions that settle on BTC. Have a look at Sovryn and the more cryptic Synonym.to, i believe they're leading the race in these directions.
