- I think there needs to be more members on the Lens team doing product testing. For instance, there should be several accounts that post different kinds of media, in as many different formats as possible to see how they translate on each of the front end apps.
It seems that there is a continuous issue with displaying media on Lens - for instance, I haven’t been able to open up an image in a post for over a week. Videos have also continued to be problematic - many don’t play at all.
If the backend and tech stack of the protocol is advancing, it serves little purpose if user experience is not optimized. Right now, the basic elements of how users interact with the protocol (ie. simply viewing and engaging with media on posts) are not working well.
- I think the last part by far the most important.
People forget that a killer app doesn’t need killer UX it just needs a killer value prop.
Too much focus on UX leads to a rude awakening once you launch and haven’t spent a single minute iterating on your core value prop.
If I could ask for one thing this year it’s going to be more novel experiences that create value rather than more email signins and UX abstractions
- Stellar onboarding for new users, with web3 stuff abstracted away at first, probably with TBAs and web2 authentication. Heavy lifting is on app devs here, but if there's protocol level support or guidance it will get implemented faster. This might go well with "use Lens with email" you mention above.
- all in for “new novel experiences”. 🤍
no more in for da tech. 🤷♀️
feels like (1) 99.99% build “infrastructure”, having one PMF: airdrop farming.
feels like (2) “crypto” became a massive multiplayer onchain p(l)ay to earn game.
(that’s not me complaining about decentralisation and airdrops ;-) that’s me complaining about web3 ignoring irl (web0-2) users.)
- DAO $LENS what do you think?
- Passkeys and a permissionless experience are, some of the most needed features for apps, developers, and users
- When are you guys going to open 4 or less digits handles for everyone?
- handle change. or profile name change
- amazing job Stani
- that's how we will be main stream ! This list is nice.
